Hiscox Vehículos Clásicos is a product built for the owners of classic vehicles. It works for a single car and for a collection, because both have the same thing in common: a value that a standard motor policy does not understand.
For a collection we describe each vehicle on its own — make, model, year and value — so the proposal reflects what is actually in the garage.
What we look at with you
- The value of each carHow each vehicle is valued is the single most important figure in the proposal. Bring any recent valuation, auction reference or restoration record you have.
- How the car is usedWeekend drives, rallies of the owners' club, or a car that rarely leaves the garage: use and annual mileage shape the cover.
- Where it is keptThe garaging address and its security are part of how an insurer looks at the risk.
- Compulsory liabilityEvery vehicle on the road in Spain must carry third-party liability. The proposal sets out in writing how it is arranged for each car.
Spanish registration and historic vehicles
Spain has its own rules for registering a car as a vehículo histórico, and a car brought in from abroad has to go through Spanish registration. If your car is still on foreign plates, or is being imported, tell us — it changes the order in which things need to be done. Is third-party liability included?
Third-party liability is compulsory for every vehicle used on the road in Spain. The proposal states in writing how it is arranged for each vehicle.

Yes. For cars registered in Portugal we place classic and collector cover there; for cars registered in Spain, Hiscox Vehículos Clásicos. Tell us where the car is registered and kept.
