How Adler & Rochefort Works

From a first message to an ongoing policy

Insurance brokerage is a process, not a transaction. Here is what actually happens after you get in touch, what we ask for along the way, and what we do and do not promise.

The process

Six steps

The same shape applies whether you need one type of cover or several, in Portugal or in Spain.

Set expectations

What to expect

Being upfront about how insurance actually works tends to save time later, so here is the honest version rather than a marketing one.

We will ask for information
Accurate answers to a small number of questions matter more than anything else — insurers underwrite based on what is disclosed, and an inaccurate answer is one of the most common reasons a later claim is contested.
Documents may be requested
What is needed varies by product and by insurer — we ask for what is actually required, not a blanket checklist.
Underwriting varies by insurer
The same risk can be viewed differently by two insurers. Acceptance is never guaranteed before an insurer has actually assessed the case.
Quotes can change
An indicative figure can move once full details are confirmed — this is normal underwriting practice, not a bait-and-switch.
Policy wording matters
What a policy actually covers is set by its wording, not by a summary on a website. We explain the wording before you sign, we do not just quote a price.
You choose whether to proceed
Getting a quote or a written comparison from us creates no obligation to buy anything.
Portugal and Spain

Two different markets

Portugal is where Adler & Rochefort is authorised and based, with several years of insurer relationships in place. Spain is served under Freedom of Services on the basis of that same authorisation — a genuine but newer part of the business.

In practice this means: not every product available in Portugal is currently available in Spain, insurer relationships differ between the two markets, and the regulatory and underwriting rules that apply are not identical. Where something cannot currently be arranged in a given market, we say so rather than imply otherwise — see insurance in Portugal and insurance in Spain for what each market actually covers today.
