Spain — Property
A property in Spain carries insurance questions that depend on how it is owned, occupied and used. A second home left empty for much of the year, an apartment within a community of owners, a home bought through a company and a property offered for rental each create different declarations and different gaps in standard cover. The rebuilding value is also a separate question from the market value or purchase price.
This category looks at those distinctions for international owners. We cover buildings and contents, community arrangements, unoccupancy, water and weather damage, mortgage requirements and the point at which a private home becomes a commercial letting risk. Where the answer depends on the policy wording or the community's own insurance, we say so clearly.
